Hello,
We wanted to make sure you received an invitation to the gateway signage ribbon cutting on June 21. The event will be followed by a tour of the Glassport business district with County Executive Sara Innamorato.
You're invited to the official ribbon cutting celebration for the debut of the new Glassport Gateway Signage, a vibrant mosaic glass creation brought to life by talented local artist, Sarah Cohen based on a design by Glassport artist Christopher Galiyas.
Join us in Glassport, PA on Saturday, June 21, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 12:30 PM as we unveil the welcoming signage on Ohio Avenue near the intersection of Broadway and across from the former Glassport Athletic Field.
Anthony Colecchi, Glassport Borough President, will give welcoming remarks and be joined by County Executive Sara Innamorato to mark the occasion along with other invited guests.
This project was made possible through the generous support of Allegheny Together, a program supported by Allegheny County Executive Sara Innamorato and Allegheny County Economic Development; Pennsylvania Council of the Arts, a state agency funded by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and the National Endowment for the Arts; and the Opportunity Fund.
Please RSVP by Friday, June 6th, through https://www.alleghenytogether.com/event-details/glassport-gateway-signage-ribbon-cutting-event

Each year, HSC Mon Valley partners with the United Way’s Free Tax Prep (FTP) Coalition to provide an FTP site. Individuals and families on a low-income or fixed budget may be eligible to have their federal, state, and local taxes done for FREE. Due to the nature of our program, our volunteer tax preparers pay special attention to Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) and Child Tax Credit eligibility to make sure that individuals and families are able to get their maximum tax refund.
The FTP Program runs from mid-January to mid-April, with appointment scheduling typically starting the second week of January. To make an appointment, taxpayers should call 2-1-1 or 1-888-856-2773 after the second week of January.
